Associated Content

If you have a flair for words and have knowledge to share, Associated Content's for you! They pay, direct to your Paypal account, for items such as local restaurant reviews, movie reviews, how-to articles and the like. Even better, you will also receive performance incentive payments based on the number of reads your article generates.

Once you register with Associated Content you will receive emailed "Calls for Content," which will notify you of specific topics Associated Content is soliciting, Nevertheless, you can submit an article for acceptance at any time. To give you an idea of the kind of article Associated Content may accept, click here for a peek at an article I wrote on thrift store shopping which netted me a payment of $11in January of last year and is still earning me a bit of money today. Other ideas: Have you recently purchased a new TV or camera or phone or such? Why not write a review of your new gizmo and its features, both good points and bad, and include a link to the item's owner's manual if possible?? Thorough writing and the inclusion of pertinent links should help increase the amount of the offer you receive from Associated Content.

Associated Content is prompt in their acceptance (or rejection) of your article and payment following shortly after actual publication. Their site is a little overwhelming and hard to understand at first so take your time, read their directions thoroughly, and start writing! If you happen to be fairly prolific, you can make quite a nice part-time income at Associated Content.

Hint: Tag your submissions as "Exclusive" if you are willing to hand over the rights to your article to Associated Content; you will no longer "own your own words" but the offer you receive from A/C will probably be higher. DO NOT do this, of course, if you want to retain ownership of your article, may wish to publish it later for other purposes. etc. If A/C wants it, you will still receive an offer, it'll just probably be for less.

Consumer Village

Consumer Village doesn't pay cash; instead, it pays in Amazon credit. Consumer Village is an online survey panel. Once you sign up, Consumer Village sends a notification to your email announcing that a new topic is available. Topics can range from how many times a month you dine out (and where) to getting your opinion on exercise to how you feel about credit card use. Participation is a little more fun and involved than your standard surveys since Consumer Village is interested in hearing your thoughts and opinions; your answers are in essay form versus simply clicking on "yes" or "no." The amount of credit your earn (usually anywhere from $3-6 or so) is paid quarterly and comes to you in the form of an electronic gift card code which can be applied toward a purchase at Amazon.com. Yep, I know it's not a huge amount but, hey, if you like Amazon and you like to save money, it's a great thing. Heck, just about anything that keeps a few more dollars in my pocket is a great thing. Besides, it's fun and it's nice that somebody, somewhere, wants to actually reward us for mouthing off :).
